A Beautiful Sunday AfternoonLets go guys, who wants to play golf with me? I asked my family. Me, me, me!!! yelled my two boys and my husband. We all packed only 4 clubs each and started to walk to our first tee box. "Listen you guys, this is my first swing of the new Century, so do not laugh. So here we went. I hit my tee shot with a 5 wood about 200 yards down the middle of the fairway. Great shot, Mommy! I hit my second shot about 75 yards over the water with a pitching wedge right on to the green. It landed about 12 feet from the flag. A down-hill putt and ..Yes !!! Right into the hole. My first hole and first birdie of the new Millennium. Gosh guys, this is great. I said. The second hole was a dog-leg to the right, normally a rather difficult hole. Again I hit my magic 5 wood down the middle of the fairway, leaving the ball about 60 yards from the flag. My second shot landed on the green and I made two putts for easy par. On the following hole, a par 5, I missed making another birdie by only one inch, literally. Bummer! After 3 holes and being almost two under par we made it to our last hole, a par three. About 125 yd to the flag, I hit my 7 iron (remember we had only 4 clubs) and bang. Jimmy screams Denise, youre going to have hole in one! For a brief moment I was without breath. Is he kidding or not? I asked myself. As it ended, however, the ball did land pin high but rolled about 18 feet behind the hole. Unfortunately, it was getting quite dark and I missed my birdie putt. Imagine me ending up under par after 4 holes. It was great! I wonder what I could have been if . Oh yes, I have no idea how my husband and boys played!
